RE: How much would you expect to pay?

Also remember the story you told seemed to show the other guy bought in the winter. During the off season the dealers are doing even worse and should be more motivated. I contacted three dealers in Oregon that had the rig I wanted. It was winter and they had just had three snowstorms and the roads had been closed for days. I offered each a price 30% lower than the asking price. Two balked. The third countered $100.00 higher. I agreed on the spot and have been thrilled since. I have ever asked another owner what they paid. I am happy and will stay that way. Maybe ignorance actually is bliss.

RE: Driving up Cadillac Mountain in MH

One more important recommendation, take your bicycles w/you. The series of carriage roads in the national park offers some of the best recreational bicycling you will find anywhere in the country.

RE: Driving up Cadillac Mountain in MH

Do it. I drove for a tourist company and took a bus full of people up there with no problem. Even the over the edge views (I hate heights) are nothing compared to so many other mountainous areas you have driven.

RE: Hiking in Yellowstone

Near Fishing Bridge is a short hike called Elephant's Back. It's uphill through the forest, but there's a great view from the top of the lake and park. Take a snack and rest awhile at the top and enjoy the view.

RE: Suggestions for leveling a satellite tripod?

First thing I do is use the bubble level to get plumb. Then I use my weight distribution bars as ballast to prevent any movement. After that locating signal is a piece of cake. With DirecTV I am done in 10-15 minutes. So easy I will set up even for an overnight stop so I can watch my Red Sox games.

RE: margarita's

My high school had an alumni golf tournament this past weekend, and I served these on the first green. Sunny 'Ritas one part tequila (anything cheap) two parts margarita mix (I used cuervo brand) three parts Sunny Delite (original flavor) Can be served on the rocks, or freeze overnight, then thaw one hour before serving for slushy 'Ritas. RE: WINTER IN CALIFORNIA?

We like Catalina Spa and RV resort in Desert Hot Springs. Nice rec hall, pool, and tennis. It's a bit windy, but price is reasonable and short drive to town for markets, shops and restaurants. Palm Springs is a short drive across the interstate if you're looking for something glamorous.

RE: Sun Tea

DW used to do sun tea, but now uses the drip coffee maker. She puts the tea in the brew basket and sweetener (right now it's pink stuff) in the pot. The tea needs to cool just a little before she puts it in a plastic pitcher that fits in our little fridge.

RE: Need a spot to leave the Coach for a month in California

We used Rabsio Storage. Just east of L.A. They have covered and uncovered fenced storage. The owner has a class A so understands our needs. The price was competitive for what I was able to find in the area.

RE: Hauling my Bike and Towing the RV

I carry my 600# Honda in the bed of my truck w/no problem. I am no weight distribution expert but it seems if your fresh water tank is in front of the TT wheels then the design allows for that weight. Without the water you eliminate about 300# and thus have only another 350# to be concerned about. I would not worry about 350#. Have a great trip.

RE: rhode island camping

We spent a week this spring at Fisherman's Memorial Park and loved it. There are waterfront sites as well as W/E only. Beach, restaurants and markets are nearby. Stop in Charlie O's for a beer!

RE: Pohick Bay SP or Darien Lakes SP??

We have stayed three times at Pohick Bay. It's a great place to use as a base for exploring Wash., DC. Once we just spent a couple nights just relaxing, the sites are wooded so there's not a lot of noise. Call ahead for reservations. Send a PM for getting to DC by Metro.

RE: Here is really why oil and corn is high, very long

So how do we as a group forward this to our representatives in Washington and demand attention be paid to this? Can this be cut and pasted and will we all follow through?

RE: Ocean Waves Campground at Outter Banks NC

And the Food Lion is open 24 hours a day during season. Go early morning or late night as all other times the place is JAMMED!!! There is a Walmart north in Kill Devil Hills about 40 miles away. Maybe stop there for better prices on the way to Ocean Waves. We spent the summer of 2004 at Camp Hatteras, next door to Ocean Waves. Great location. Be sure to take day trips to check out the light houses. There is also a small ocean life saving museum within a mile of Ocean Waves. Go. It helps you to understand the unique life style on a barrier reef.

RE: How small is your rig while full timing?

We have been full timing for 4.5 years in our 31' Cougar TT. It works fine for us. Every 6 or 8 months I go through the underneath storage and give away what we haven't used since putting it there. That gives us new storage space to fill :>O.

RE: Slide out awnings

My TT does not have slide awnings. After watching the winds on South Padre Island shred the slide awnings on others' rigs I am happy to climb up and sweep off my slide out roof before retracting.

RE: Petit Jean State Park-Arkansas

We stayed in the D loop. Very wooded and private. Make sure you hike down to the falls!

RE: Florida to Big Bend NP - what's on the way?

This year we stopped in Lafayette, LA for a week. Besides the great food in the area, there's lots of historic towns within a short drive, even the home of Tabasco sauce! We stayed at Acadiana Park, a city park in Lafayette. In Texas, try Palmetto State Park, just off the interstate. Seminole State Park, west of Del Rio, has a great ranger-led tour of the cave drawings. Stop in Alpine to get provisions before going to Big Bend.

RE: Fishing Bridge/Flagg Ranch/West Yellowstone

Despite being crowded, FB has got the best location. We weren't really bothered by the crowds, except for at Old Faithful Call and make reservations as soon as you can.

Campground recommendations

Our first trip in Canada! We will drive from Niagra Falls north on Hwy 400 to Sudbury, then west to UP Michigan. Looking to take about a week, and would appreciate any places to stay and things to see, not too far off the route. Thanks to all!
